Jacob Derwin’s career has had many exciting twists and turns through various industries and positions, culminating in specialties in branded event production and talent management. Below are his career highlights from the last decade.


Event Manager & Brand Ambassador

Audio-Technica

2024-

In 2024, Audio-Technica opened their New York City marketing salon called Technica House, and their podcast studio AT-ONE. Jacob became the first employee hired to work out of this new office, and to support the brand-new business venture for the company through local networking, event production, multimedia podcast production, and office management.

Within his first year of employment, Jacob exceeded KPI expectations. Some of these accomplishments include:
-Arranging and engineering podcast recordings with major podcast companies like Dear Media, PRX, Radiotopia, and more.
-Engineering and producing the first seven episodes of an Audio-Technica branded podcast series.
-Connecting with over 100 artists, local businesses, influencers and content creators including Broadway stars, popular YouTubers and internationally beloved touring music acts.
-Managing multiple events in the Technica House space, including an influencer and press-forward music event with Warner Music Group.
-Setting the groundwork for two press events at Technica House and one major public-facing, large-scale branded event at a unique, famous NYC venue.


Casting Editor & Development Producer

2020-2024

After a brief-but-memorable appearance on a popular reality television show, Jacob became very involved in the unscripted television casting industry. Over three years, Jacob worked as a casting editor, creating multimedia pitch decks and reels for over a dozen production companies and networks. Jacob helped cast and develop 32 series. Highlights include Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (ABC), Love & Hip-Hop (MTV), and The Parent Test (ABC).

When he wasn’t working on these series, Jacob developed original television concepts. Three of these pitches resulted in meetings with leading production companies, and even attracted the attention of FOX’s senior development team.

Brooklyn Heights Synagogue & Brooklyn Game Lab

2017-2020

While establishing himself in the New York media landscape, Jacob worked in education and childcare at various organizations.

At Brooklyn Heights Synagogue, Jacob was the go-to music specialist for everything from Mommy & Me singalongs to musical services and community worship. He also frequently substituted as a teacher at the Synagogue preschool.

At Brooklyn Game Lab, Jacob led students through exciting afterschool programming focused around tabletop gaming. He inspired creativity, collaboration and outside-of-the-box thinking through board games of all types.
